The Culture Café events celebrate the diversity of multi-cultural Belfast. The events focus on minority communities across the city and promote respect and understanding of these cultures. Each Culture Café will focus on a different culture and their contribution to Belfast’s history.
Rym Akhonzada will facilitate our next culture café, understanding the Spanish Culture and showcasing the community in Belfast. During this Culture Café you will learn some key Spanish words as well as understanding the difference in being Spanish, Hispanic and Latin.
Mayte Segura from Mexico and Mayte Rulz Cala from Spain will provide a brief demonstration of the traditional Spanish flamenco dance and you will also hear about the significance and importance of this dance to the Spanish Community.
Finally, we will be joined by successful business owners where we will hear about the economic benefit of the Spanish community coming to Belfast, some challenges they have faced and the success along the way. They will also discuss Spanish cuisine during their talk.
